Bill Maher made waves this week by saying he would consider voting for JD Vance if Democrats move closer to the Democratic Socialists of America by 2028.

The comedian and commentator drew a firm line against what he described as a shift toward socialism within the party.

“I’m not living in communist America,” Maher said, explaining that he had read statements from the DSA platform that convinced him the group’s ideas were incompatible with his own vision of the country.
